Jaipur- the Pink City of India
Jaipur, the capital of Rajasthan, is one of the most popular tourist destinations of Rajasthan. Widely known as the '
Pink City ', Jaipur is color washed pink to welcome Prince Albert, the consort of Queen Victoria of England who visited India in 1883 A.D. The city was founded in 1727 A.D by one of the greatest ruler Jai Singh II. Jaipur is surrounded by hills on three sides, crowned by formidable forts and majestic palaces, mansions and gardens. Jaipur is the only city in the world, which is sub-divided in to nine rectangular sectors symbolizing nine divisions of universe. Jaipur is the first planned city designed in accordance with 'Shilpa Shastra'- epochal treatise of Hindu architecture. Jaipur is also base to visit several other destinations of Rajasthan. Ajmer, Pushkar, Samode, Sariska National Park and Ranthambhore National Park are easily accessible from Jaipur. Jaipur is also best destination to observe cultural charm of the state. During Rajasthan fair & festival the city becomes more beautiful and worth enjoying, worth exploring.

Places Of Interest:

Amer Palace
The fort, its ramparts & watchtowers, overlooking the Delhi-Jaipur highway. It is believed to have been the capital of the "Minas", the original inhabitants of Rajasthan.
City Palace
Nakkarkhana-ka-Darwaza, the imposing gateway of the City Palace guarded by stone elephants, is monumental.
Hawa Mahal
A Pandora's box of wonders, the enchanting Hawa Mahal, the palace of winds, tier upon tier of curved arch surmounting fairy casements with "jali", lattice work screens.
Jaigarh
Built on a peak, overlooks the palace & city of Amber below.
Jal Mahal
Is Jaipur's lake palace. Surrounded with water.
Jantar Mantar
The architectural astronomical instruments of an 18th century Rajasthani king named Jai Singh contained in an amazing, three-storey-high complex known as Jantar Mantar.
Nahargarh Fort
Originally called Sudarshan Garh affords a splendid view of Jaipur.
Sisodia Rani Ka Bagh
Has beautiful gardens, fountains, pools & some magnificent pieces of Sculpture.

Royal Gaitor
The beautiful cenotaphs of the royal family are just outside the city walls.

Albert Hall Museum
It houses some of the rare collections of carpets, artifacts, textile, pottery and other craft items.

Birla Temple
This wonderful state of the art temple is made up of pure white marble and must not be missed.

Galta Ji
The temple of the Sun god, a rocky barren orge leads up to it and there are good views over the surrounding plains.
